Fifteen minute oral history with Ida Priday Holmes, who first arrived in Central Oregon in 1882, settling with her family near Madras. Ida discusses early schooling in the country. In 1900, Ida became one of the original teachers in Bend and she discusses early education in Bend, as well as town life around the turn of the century. Interview conducted by Kessler Cannon with KBND in 1953 as part of an oral history series with the Deschutes County Pioneers. Originally broadcast on April 26, 1953.
