Fifteen minute oral history with Dominick Verges, a Basque sheepherder who first arrived in Central Oregon in 1911. Verges herded sheep in Crook and Deschutes Counties until 1932, when he switched to cattle. Verges discusses the early Central Oregon wars between sheepmen and cattlemen, his native Basque country in southern France, and teaching his dogs to listen to commands in the Basque language.
